Maria Folgueras graduated from UC Berkeley with her Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the Peidong Yang group in May 2023. Her doctoral research focused on the manipulation of molecular orbitals in all-inorganic metal-halide perovskites with the goal of both achieving and fundamentally understanding the origin of new electronic and vibrational properties that arise from such manipulation. In addition to being a member of the perovskite subgroup, Maria also served as a lab safety manager and laser safety officer. Before attending UC Berkeley, Maria received her B.S.E. and M.Eng. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Duke University. Currently, she works as a Senior Research Scientist at Dow.
