- The Kavli ENSI brings together 23 world-class scientists from a diverse set of backgrounds with a combined interest and focus on learning the fundamentals of how energy flows and can be controlled on the nanoscale, where the rules of quantum mechanics and statistical mechanics teach us that entirely new ways of thinking are possible. The institute has developed rapidly to become a vibrant hub of engagement on these issues across the Berkeley campus and the Berkeley Lab.

Celine Yeung | Graduate Student

Cambridge Supervisor: Erwin Reisner

Berkeley Host: Omar Yaghi

Celine graduated with a B.Eng. (Chemical Engineering) from the National University of Singapore in 2020. Thereafter, she spent a gap year at A*STAR’s Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (Singapore) and worked on sustainable polymer chemistry. Excited to explore the big world beyond her sunny island home, Celine joined the Reisner Lab for her PhD studies in Fall 2021, developing organic photovoltaics for clean photoelectrochemical fuel production and CO2 valorisation.
