Host Faculty Advisor: Professor Angelos Michaeldes, Department of Chemistry, University of Cambridge

Oxana obtained her MSci in Chemistry with Molecular Physics from Imperial College London. She is currently a Chemistry PhD student in the Persson group at UC Berkeley, where she uses computational methods to study the adsorption properties of possible photocatalysts for the carbon dioxide reduction reaction. At the University of Cambridge she will be working with Prof. Angelos Michaelides in the Department of Chemistry on high-throughput adsorption studies on single atom alloys for catalysis applications. Performing energy-based, geometric, electronic, and charge-based analyses on a comprehensive set of adsorption structures is expected to reveal novel trends and potential descriptors of catalytic activity for this promising class of materials.
